Our client, Indonesia's fast-growing auto-finance start-up company, provides financing or short-term loans for auto dealers who offer their used-car inventory as collateral. It also provides a single platform for dealers to digitize business processes such as inventory management.
Job Responsibilities
- In essence, you will be assisting the Head of Legal of the Company by managing the Company's operational and commercial legal matters.
- Assisting the Head of Legal, collaborating with the management in developing corporate standards and policies, and overseeing the implementation to avoid or minimize legal risk in line with the regulation in all corporate activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate general to complex (highly tailor-made) legal document transactions, corporate actions, and legal analysis by providing legal advice on company business activities and transactions to avoid or minimize legal risk and comply with the prevailing laws and regulations.
- Conduct regulatory assessment and advise the Company’s division/department head about the impact of the applicable laws and regulations on their functional areas.
- Review and advise management on legal risk assessment to estimate the severity of its implication and define mitigating actions to avoid and minimize the risk exposure in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.
- Represent the Company before the court/government agency regarding criminal and civil litigation and other legal proceedings to protect the Company’s interest, assisting the internal business department to stakeholders for any issues of the statutory law, as may be required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Law.
- Proven experience in managing general to complex (highly-tailor made) legal corporate, document transaction, and advisory matters by being a Legal person with extensive experience working as a Transactional Lawyer in a prominent Law Firm or a Legal In-House Counsel - preferably in the tech/start-up companies with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Having in-depth knowledge and experience with respect to General Corporate and Data Privacy laws and regulations.
- Proven track record in (i) managing general to complex legal transactions matters; (ii) leading and accomplishing crucial policy legal strategies; (iii) monitoring, analyzing, and advising on complex and emerging policy issues; (iv) leading, managing, and developing a team; (v) problem-solving with a collaborative approach; and (vi) communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A high-level English proficiency.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Good communications skills with strong verbal and writing abilities
- An ambitious person with strong professional ethics, integrity, and a keen perspective on details.
- A professional License in Legal practice is an advantage.
