- Researching data breakthroughs that are available or not yet available on the market to assist business needs.
- Understanding company needs and using them to create ideas and solutions that address and support business needs.
- Work together to create and deploy an innovation with the Data Engineer team (required data & technology).
- Presenting research findings as understandable prototypes (applications, data models, or visualizations) in order to illustrate or demonstrate the advantages of an idea.
- Work closely with the Data Science team to model data from various internal/external database sources or other systems using programming scripts (SQL, python, R, or other programming languages), in order to develop and implement a data innovation (use case) that has been shown to be advantageous to the business in the production area.
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer or Data Scientist (is a Plus)
- Experience in data mining
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
- Knowledge of R, SQL and Python; familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop) is a plus
- Analytical mind and business acumen
- Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
