Job Description

Work with both internal and external stakeholders to establish data center operations, create Change Management protocols and tools, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP) for collocation facilities in the region.

As a technical leader, oversee a team of professionals and consultants to ensure effective implementation of data center operations, both in normal and emergency situations.

Manage collocation data centers and ensure that vendors are complying with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as per the contractual terms.

Assist the project manager with construction administration, collaborating with internal stakeholders to support new data center projects from schematic design and design development to construction documents and commissioning.

Propose and evaluate energy-efficient solutions to minimize power losses.

Develop comprehensive scripts for Change Management Request (CMR) activities.

Visit data center sites for engineering studies, audits of electrical systems, startup testing, and full commissioning, as required.

Offer mission-critical system review services for electrical systems to data center engineering teams worldwide.

Participate in Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA) of equipment failure or power outage-related incidents.

Instruct vendors and installation contractors and ensure quality of vendor work on-site.

Respond to emergencies in regional Alibaba data centers as needed, providing on-site support by traveling to the site.

Multinational company|Fast paced working environment
  • A degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering at the Bachelor's level.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the data center facility management role
  • A comprehensive understanding of the mechanical, electrical, fire system, and control systems used in data centers.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and architectures, as well as principles and best practices for IT service delivery.
  • A highly motivated individual who can manage themselves, with extensive experience in problem analysis and critical thinking.
  • Understanding of the construction procedures for data centers.
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally as necessary, with travel ranging from 25% to 50%+ at times.
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Fluent English is essential.
