Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Maintenance Technician – Field Service.

The role is Responsible for standard maintenance, faultfinding, repairing, inspecting, and commissioning service projects, taking customer and Sandvik framework and requirements into account. Customer focus in approach to execution, works unsupervised in workshop and/or at the customer site/field.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

Service and Maintenance Technician.

Responsible for the maintenance and repair on products and equipment (60% of their time).

Identify components, understand basic functionality, and conduct maintenance and repair work accordingly. This includes the provision of preventive and cost-efficient repairs.

Understand system functionality and interactions of hydraulics/mechanics/electrics/automation/ pneumatics/materials.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve common problems, as a first line support (20% of their time). Work independently to solve standard problems and is guided by more senior technicians for more complex tasks.

Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy, and that tools and equipment are stored appropriately.

Commissioning of products (10% of time spend), which includes pre-delivery inspections and hot (operational and at customer site) commissioning.

PLANNING AND REPORTING

Complete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders. (e.g. report and document on maintenance and/or repair completed.) Obtain customer authorization to invoice.

Download control system data and upgrade software, at supervisor discretion.

Plan for having the correct tools and parts needed to perform tasks according to work procedures. (e.g. collect service kits to perform service on machine, book special tools required etc.)

CUSTOMER VALUE ADD

Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by giving feedback on possible improvements. (According to sales area requirements.)

Uses knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.

Coaches customer technicians on basic servicing and maintenance principles.

COLLABORATION WITH PARTS & SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT DIVISIONS

Collaborate within the Sales Area (including territories/countries etc.) with supervisor, senior technicians, and peers.

Can be nominated for factory equipment division training if identified as a high potential.

Give feedback based on challenges experienced in the field.

Participate in local equipment division training and comply with the requirements of a Sandvik Maintenance Technician.

Awareness of new product launches.

Understand how business or related KPIs impact in their operational efficiency.

SUPERVISION / ACT AS A COACH

Share knowledge with colleagues/Service Technicians while working to boost knowledge and skill levels within the service technician area.

Understand the operation of the equipment and explain the functionality of hydraulic and electric systems to junior service technicians or customers.

Assign simple tasks to junior staff and guide or advise them on how to do them.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Ensure that routine work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

PREFERRED ENVIRONMENT & MOBILITY

Field - Any environment (Location Customer Sites/Workshops).

Willing to travel from site to site within country.

EXPERIENCE

4-6 Years Sandvik Equipment Experience

Has proficient experience and proven basic skills of Sandvik Equipment

Basic to proficient Root Cause Analysis

EDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

Relevant Trade Certification / Equivalent

Sandvik Service Technician qualification

Sandvik Maintenance Certification (Level 1-3 Knowledge Assessments = 80%)

Has proficient knowledge and proven proficient skills of Sandvik Equipment

COMPETENCIES

TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL

Proficient equipment knowledge and skills in at least one equipment type (automation a pre-requisite):

Load & Haul

Drilling and Rigging

Rock Drill Technologies

Automation and/or

Rock Drills

i-SERIES (Proficient skills and knowledge) Decentralized Automation - Bus Technology; Control Systems; Mechanics; Hydraulics; Pneumatics; Electrics
