The opportunity
Rystad Energy is looking for an analyst to work in Jakarta as part of our E&P team and contribute to the greater global research teams. Your task will be to survey upstream activity and to provide our clients with leading and relevant intelligence. We are looking for candidates with strong analytical skills regardless of educational and professional background. Candidates will be required to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines and be able to juggle multiple priorities.
The E&P team is part of the analyst department in Rystad Energy and is responsible for maintaining and developing our database products within the E&P space. The work consists of collecting and analyzing data and presenting this to clients. This will give you a deep understanding of the global oil industry and you will work in close collaboration with our consultants and programmers, as well as our business developers.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and analyze upstream data
- Model and value oil and gas assets
- Research and analyze E&P companies’ activities, countries production trends, and fiscal policies, with a focus on Indonesia
- Analyze the impact of petroleum fiscal arrangements
- Identify and determine the impact of external factors such as prices, M&A, geopolitics & policy etc., on activity
- Develop automated data-capturing tools to help with routine data-scouting work
- Write insightful commentaries and participate in webinars on industry trends
- Contribute into the E&P team’s work to build the core UCube offering
- Support our external clients, consultants, and business development team
- 1-5 years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of petroleum fiscal framework in APAC
- University degree in a data-driven field such as mathematics, engineering, economics, or finance/business
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, Power Bi and Python will be a plus
- Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia and able to demonstrate good writing skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and independent, as well as a strong team player
- Only candidates with Indonesia working rights will be considered for this role
- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or master's will be a plus
- Good MS Excel, PowerPoint skills
