- Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of HSE standards, both internal and regulatory.
- Manage quality system and delivery of products that meet regulatory and customer expectations.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement through operational excellence.
- Manage maintenance department and implement asset improvement plans.
- Provide technical diagnostics and troubleshooting support for daily plant operation.
- Manage production planning and cost control to meet business requirements.
- Develop a strategy for people development and succession planning with HR.
- Maintain technical and engineering links with overseas office for best practice sharing.
- Report locally and globally against set KPIs for all site activities.
- Maintain good relationships with regulatory authorities and local communities to obtain and maintain necessary permits.
- Degree in a technical subject, preferably chemical/process engineering
- 15-20 years of technical and manufacturing experience in the chemical industry
- Experience managing an operation with significant level of independence
- Ability to manage a demanding workload that includes planned and unplanned work
- Good leadership, interpersonal, and change management skills
- English speaking
- Responsibility for ensuring production value of a recently expanded plant is realized
- Drive reductions in fixed cost base and improve plant efficiencies
- Experience working with European or US cultures
- Experience leading a workforce in changing working practices would be an advantage
