As EHS Manager, you have profound and up-to-date knowledge on legal and BASF internal requirements in the field of environmental protection, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and/or construction and design safety and obtain the role of a coach to foster continuous improvement in the area of EHS.
Responsibilities:
- As EHS Manager, you have profound and up-to-date knowledge on legal and BASF internal requirements in the field of environmental protection, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and/or construction and design safety and obtain the role of a coach to foster continuous improvement in the area of EHS.
- For our large capital investment projects, you lead and coordinate the EHS-specific activities across all RCMS disciplines, incorporate safety into business and project management processes, foster cross-project successful practices sharing and identify major EHS concerns early on.
- There will be extensive interaction with a diverse range of business partners, peers, and stakeholders inside and outside of the company as:
- Managing the EHS interface to project contractors/partners regarding EHS e.g., in China. * Focus particularly on activities related to environmental protection, permitting roadmap for investment projects but also includes process safety, occupational health and safety aspects.
- You are in charge of identifying and highlighting any critical EHS risks in investment project preparation early on during site selection, design, construction, and commissioning activities
- Work together with experts within the company as well as with potential external consultants and prepare sound action and mitigation plans.
- Together with the project team and your counterparts in EHS, you implement the agreed action plan and insure proper target achievement.
- Drive progress of target achievement and with the support of communication team, you communicate results internally and externally. * These activities are orchestrated with support of the EHS OD office, the regional experts from GB, where applicable, as well as in close alignment with the corporate colleagues at COR.
- The action and mitigation plan for the respective projects are developed with considering the input provided by global governance on a consultancy basis.
- Collaborating with these interfaces is going to be key for obtaining positive final investment decisions for the respective projects.
Requirement:
- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering science.
- Required language(s): Bahasa Indonesia and English are a must; Chinese would be beneficial.
- More than 5 years of working experience in EHS; Construction and Design safety.
- Technical and Professional Knowledge: Safety, health, environmental guidelines.
- Strong footprint (experience) in the mining industry would be beneficial.
