Job Description of Construction Manager
- Report to Head of Construction as line manager and report to Project Manager on project level;
- Main contact for all stakeholder on site;
- Lead the weekly coordination meeting on site;
- Provide input for Project Manager for Steering group meeting;
- Organize and control/monitor activities of Construction Management team member on site;
- Ensuring project objectives on safety, cost, schedule and quality are met;
- Coordination of supervision on the correct execution of the activities of Contractors /vendors in accordance with the approved drawings, schedules and prescribed rules and instructions;
- Taking appropriate measures in case of disruption of progress;
- Regular track on schedule and cost at a detailed level to ensure that these can be tracked and controlled;
- To ensure the schedule is updated regularly and initiate improvement and mitigation plan in case of delay;
- Reporting of progress and other relevant matters regarding site activities to Client via the Project Manager;
- Final check and sign for the site administration system, site instructions, approvals of materials, shop drawings and QA tests and inspections;
- Review of the Health and Safety plans prepared by all Contractors;
- Ensure contractors follow contract obligations as per the contract document;
- Checking the maintenance of the resources, materials and equipment made available or purchased, including checking that the goods obtained are in accordance with the regulations, permits or the HSE plan, as well as the statutory provisions;
- Setting up emergency procedures, evacuation plans etc. if necessary and where not provided for in the HSE plan;
- Ensuring HSE forms a fixed item on the agenda of site meetings;
- Ensuring Induction of RHDHV employees and visitors on the construction site;
- Oversee timely response to contractors on RFI's;
- Ensure SI log is managed and followed up on a regular basis;
- Provide input for Project Manager for the issuance of notification to contractors, to ensure contractor non-compliance to contractual requirements are recorded;
- Maintain a Variation order log and follow up on outstanding variation orders;
- Maintain a log of safety, quality and other NCR issued and follow up on closure with support of Document Controller;
- To ensure proper preparation and monitoring of snag list;
- Ensure site policies and procedures are followed to ensure tight control on site activities;
- Organize Construction site handover to Client;
- Develop, monitor and update construction risk register and include in the monthly report;
- Develop, monitor and update construction Issue log and include in the monthly report.
- Min. Bachelor Degree from reputable university
- Min 10 years experience as CM for industrial project
- Having good communication in English
- Able to write a report in English
