The Internal Audit Group protects AIG through assurance work and partners with stakeholders to provide objective advice and insight. The group assists the Corporation in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of AIG’s control environment, including risk management, operational, internal control and governance processes. In addition, we proactively engage with stakeholders by monitoring progress of transformation / change initiatives and provide valuable advice and insight that contributes to moving these initiative forward.
About the role
What you need know
- Following the audit flow as defined in Audit Committee Charter;
- Developing an audit plan based on risk assessment results and reporting the plan to the Audit Committee for review and approval;
- Continuously considering AIGII’s risk profile , including new or emerging risks, business changes and transformation, new initiatives and business trends, and communicating any impact on the risk profile to the Audit Committee and AIG Senior Management as appropriate;
- Reviewing and adjusting the audit plan as necessary in response to any changes in AIGII’s risk profile;
- Ensuring execution of the audit plan and that individual audit engagements are performed according to AIG’s policies and procedures;
- Communicating any corrective actions not effectively implemented to remediate issues to the Audit Committee and AIGII Senior Management;
- Ensuring principles of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and competency are applied and upheld;
- Establishing and ensuring adherence to AIG policies and procedures and continuously evaluating and enhancing IA’s audit methodology where appropriate;
- ensure that the IA meets or exceeds the standards set by nationally or internationally recognized professional bodies, including the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing set by The Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Proven track of record of a minimum 7 year experience
- Having insurance background would be an advantage
- Demonstrate analytical skills and critical thinking
- Proactive and working independently
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrates self-diligent, ability to self-organize
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with matrix organization
