The Civil Construction Manager position is the Technical Subject Expert to advise ORMAT Resources team of Civil Engineering best practice
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure adherence to Contractor and Ormat HSE policies
- Review Civil Contractor produced Drawings and Survey Data
- Review Civil Contractor proposal for constructability and code compliance
- Review Civil Contractor schedule to ensure practicability
- Review Civil Contractor test results and quality documentation
- Assist Site Supervisor - Civil, in monitoring the Civil contractor daily activities for quality, HSE and schedule.
- Substitute for Site Supervisor - Civil, as required at site
- Produce Scope of work for Survey and Civil Contractor as required. Participate in Commercial and Technical evaluation of bids.
- Review and approve Civil Contractor Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Witness quality testing carried out by Civil Contractor or 3rd Party
- Provide input, as required, to Business Development for Permit applications
- Liaise with Geology team to assess constructability of future developments
- Set example to contractor and contractor personnel of company's safety protocols
- Provide input, as required, to Business Development for Permit applications
- Liaise with Geology team to assess constructability of future developments
- Build working relationship with other Ormat disciplines, Contractors and Regulatory Representatives
- Post Graduate Qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of ten (10) years' relevant site experience directly associated with major capex projects
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal or no supervision
- Experience working with a diverse range of cultures is advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and influence positively a diverse group of executives, managers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word)
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to read and interpret Engineering Drawings, Survey Data and soil sample reports
- Must be able to work and stay at site location as needed by project
- Must be able to work on site
- Must be able to wear a variety of protective equipment as required by safety procedures and regulations
- Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance
