What you’ll be doing...
- Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu
- Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
- To organise an assigned section and ensure it runs efficiently and productively.
- Prepare and cook all food orders with a sense of urgency.
- Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure that work area, equipment and section is kept clean at all times, in accordance with current health and hygiene regulations
- Monitors food preparation and wastage costs, control these by following efficient preparation methods and standard recipes.
- Lead employees by setting a positive example.
- Lightning quick, master multi-tasker managing varying orders during busy service periods
- You will be a team player
- You will work fantastically under pressure, cucumber cool!
- Your energetic and positive attitude is contagious - smiles all round!
- You ooze flair, passion and are a stickler for presentation- it's the little things that count!
- 2 years of previous experience as chef in a busy hotel operation is essential
