- As a key member of the Processing Technical Services team and reporting into the Manager Process Technical Services, the Metallurgical Trainer provides technical assistance and support to the metallurgical section, by offering mentoring and training to improve the ability of the team to optimise the plant.
- Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the Metallurgical team.
- Ensure all safety incidents are addressed & reported promptly.
- Drive skills transfer and training, with the aim of increasing competencies and skill sets in junior staff where possible, especially through interaction on projects.
- Implement systems to maximise the utilisation of metallurgist to focus on problem solving and process improvements, both short and long term.
- Develop training programs that includes practical training and theoretical training that matches the current operating strategy within the plant
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager Process Technical Services

- Minimum 5 years working as a Metallurgist with a sound technical knowledge around comminution, flotation, and dewatering
- Minimum 2 years' appropriate experience in technical training and development.
- Experience in metallurgical process operations of a large copper concentrator highly regarded.
- Proven track record of metallurgical optimisation, improvement, and project development.
- A Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or related field
- A qualification in training and assessing would be highly regarded
