BACKGROUND
Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a “Associate Member”. As ‘Associate Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to full membership
The Project Coordinator will responsible to lead project activities in the target schools and RPTRA in Jakarta Selatan and Jakarta Utara. In collaboration with Project Manager, s/he will ensure all program activities are implemented according to the plan and of quality. S/he will ensure timely and quality project implementation in close collaboration with ACCM Department. Detail Roles and Responsibilities are presented in the section Key Areas of Accountability.
The post holder will contribute on achievement of the global KPIs on Operations Delivery, and contribute to achievement of global KPI’ as follows:

SCOPE OF ROLE

Budget Responsibility : USD 7,500
Dimensions: Save the Children is implementing a one year Circular Economy Project in Jakarta Selatan and Jakarta Utara targeting 10 Junior High Schools and 2 RPTRA. This project is a collaboration between Save the Children Indonesia and Save the Children Korea funded by Hyundai Motor Company (HMC). The Project Coordinator will responsible to lead project activities in the target schools and RPTRA in Jakarta Selatan and Jakarta Utara. In collaboration with Project Manager, s/he will ensure all program activities are implemented according to the plan and of quality. S/he will ensure timely and quality project implementation in close collaboration with ACCM Department. Detail Roles and Responsibilities are presented in the section Key Areas of Accountability.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- In collaboration with Project Manager, Technical Advisors and ACCM department, develop and implement strategies to ensure clear guidance for the quality program delivery.
- Develop and maintain strategies for an effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems (including documentation of activities), to ensure the effectiveness of project implementation.
- Be the point of person in organizing the implementation of the Circular Economy project activities in the field
- In coordination with ACCM Department, organize and implement related campaign and educational activities for and with the target schools and target RPTRA
- In collaboration with ACCM Department, organize the delivery of the SEKOCI Module to the target audiences
- Act as point of person for the project to liaise with target Schools stakeholder and RPTRA stakeholders
- Ensure programs are implemented in ways responsive to the communities, and children in line with Save the Children principles, values and strategic plan and following Save the Children compliance procedures.
- Plan and organise the day-to-day implementation of project activities (will include preparing of workshops/meetings/events and monitoring of team workplans) to ensure the effectiveness and good quality of project interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate the day to day implementation of all activities to ensure that program activities are delivered in line with the allocated budget and resources.
- Work closely with MEAL team to ensure MEAL related aspects are incorporated into the project and are implemented accordingly in the project
- Conduct regular visits to program implementation areas, gather learning and feedback to inform discourse and plans for the project, the local government and related stakeholders
- Establish, maintain and strengthen relationship with local partners and with audiences that partnership is targeting.
- Work closely with Project Manager to obtain support from other department within Save the Children to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
- Support Project Manager to manage the daily program management and to achieve the standard KPI on program operations: Budget Versus Actual (BVA), supply chain efficiency, on time reporting and other related KPI as required by Save the Children.
- Establish, maintain and strengthen relationship with local partners and with audiences that partnership is targeting.
- Organize consultative and planning meetings
- Initiate the development of the progress reports of the project in order to ensure the provision of accurate and updated information prior submission to the Project Manager for further review
- Identify areas in which the project, the local government and related stakeholders can collaborate to adhere the climate change and circular economy issue
- Sensitize key decision-makers and stakeholders about the Climate Change and the Circular Economy on the gathered research evidence
- With Project Manager, actively participate in the weekly meeting with Save the Children Korea to provide update and the progress of the project
- Participate the Indonesia Emergency Response Team and respond on emergencies in line with global SCI emergency policies.
- Contribute to ensuring awareness and involvement in building and maintaining the brand in all project field sites and with all project external stakeholders including partners
- Contribute in promoting an environment of continuous learning, where staff is encouraged and supported to grow and develop and are willing to be held accountable for their commitments.
- Promote culture of high performance through implementing necessary processes to measure performance against key indicators at field office level
- Manage programmatic budget with the limit of USD 7,500 in close coordination with Project Manager.
Education and experience background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in community development or any relevant advanced degree preferred. Extensive and substantive relevant practical experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s Degree
- Relevant experiences to the Circular Economy and Climate Change related programs is highly expected
- At least 5 years experiences in managing programs with international NGOs.
