Unilever’s Process Safety Operations Manager (PSOM) & Collaborative Manufacturing Safety for SEAA is responsible for managing all compliance related work in Process Safety and in Collaborative Manufacturing Safety for the SEAA cluster and supports the deployment of Group Safety strategies for Process Safety and Collaborative Manufacturing Safety. This includes ensuring Framework Standards (FWS) compliance for all High and Medium Process Safety hazard facilities incl. for Collaborative Manufacturing sites, managing the SHE Positive Assurance Reporting (PAR) process and coordinating SHE FWS audits and 3rd Party Process Safety and CM Safety audits. S/he supports Safety activities across all site-category combinations in the cluster and has a direct impact on the Safety performance through monitoring of KPIs and using the Occupational Safety/SHENet reporting systems to generate performance reports. S/he interacts with the SU Directors, CM Managers, SHE Managers, Technical Authorities and Process Safety Competent Personnel to ensure compliance with the standards is maintained.
Key Accountabilities
- Drive deployment of Process Safety & CM Safety Framework Standards across the cluster.
- Ensure constant improvement in PAR scores across all sites and compliance with Framework Standards and Specific Standards.
- Ensure that action plans made to close gaps are appropriate and completed on time.
- Build capabilities in the cluster for conducting Process Safety Hazard Assessment and CM Safety Assessment.
- Coordinate FWS audits with trained auditors and 3rd Party / Independent audits of High and Medium Hazard Sites.
- Provide guidance and consultation to the sites in incident reporting and investigation.
- Support the cluster in closing actions identified in audits and/or hazard assessments.
- Identify and communicate Best Practices across the cluster.
- Monitor progress on safety performance of sites in the cluster, check integrity of data and prepare reports to ensure planned reductions are taking place against targets.
- Determine training needs and assist in the delivery of training programs to build new capabilities in the cluster.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Unilever’s Process Safety Program incl. UMS Process Safety Pillar, and support deployment in sites.
- Assist in the facilitation of cluster safety Community of Practitioners (CoPs)
- Works closely with Technical Authority in deploying technology specific standards
ESSENTIAL
- University degree in Science or Engineering.
- Excellent knowledge of Unilever SHE standards.
- Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity.
- Good observation and auditing skills.
- Broad understanding of Manufacturing processes and activities.
- Risk assessment, management and control incl. High-Risk Process and Manufacturing Specific Hazards.
- Understanding legal Compliance; Federal, State and local law and regulation applicable to Process Safety and Manufacturing Safety.
- Advanced degree in Occupational Health & Safety
- 5-10 years experience in Manufacturing Safety and Process Safety.
ESSENTIAL
Strong safety background with significant achievements in safety.
Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management.
