Job Description
- The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and managing the General Contractor Mechanical trades during the construction and commissioning of a Data Centre.
- Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Managing in house supervision to ensure quality control of Mechanical Systems- this includes but is not limited to the following scope of work: HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Ductwork, Building Controls, BMS and Fire Protection.
- Implement and manage the MEP coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to start of installations.
- Review of shop drawings and submittals for compliance and completeness.
- Participate in change order process as it relates to Mechanical works and assist the Senior Project Manager, as necessary, in estimating proposals and change orders.
- Provide scheduling input to the project team as it relates to Mechanical works.
- Coordinate onsite activities, materials procurement, inspections and other related activities the site team.
- Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as requested.
- Troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of field installation issues.
- Attend weekly meetings with client, consultants and contractor.
- Coordinates the delivery and installation of owner provided Long Lead Equipment.
- Monitors the installation and start-up of Mechanical systems and commissioning of project.
- Manage the close out process for MEP trades.
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 7- 10 years’ experience with hi-technology manufacturing, industrial, and project management in major mega projects internationally.
- Experience and knowledge of all the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
- Experience in managing contractors in pre and post contract stages and managing tendering process will be preferred
- Experience of leading project management commissions for medium to large sized general construction projects of medium to large complexity
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team
- Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Office suite of products.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
