- The Sourcing Controller, Indonesia, will oversee all finance and internal control activities for Barry Callebaut's (“BC”) cocoa sourcing business within Indonesia. The role will interact closely with the local and regional bean sourcing team, accounting, tax, and treasury. On a day-to-day basis, this role would take guidance and partner with the bean sourcing business partner.
- The role will primarily be responsible to review all internal processes, systems, and policies and make recommendations to ensure the risk to the business is minimized with a view to delivering improvements by advising, coaching, and facilitating in order to not undermine the responsibility of management.
- Solid reporting line to Regional Finance Business Partner - Cocoa
- Coordinates activities to monitor compliance and effectiveness of financial controls. Assess the potential impact of segregation of duties conflicts; identify and implement remediation and/or compensating controls.
- Conduct risk assessment of all activities
- Prepare monthly stock reconciliation reports - identify bean movements, and weight losses and establish robust controls for monitoring
- Establishing and checking the effectiveness of financial controls in invoice/claims processing, petty cash management
- Identify areas of strengths and weaknesses and engage in continuous education and staff development regarding best practices
- Evaluate information security and associated risk exposures
- Evaluate the organization's readiness in case of business interruption
- Active involvement in half-yearly and yearly stock counts
- Managing relationships with external parties in Indonesia, such as customs, auditors, tax authorities, etc.
- Lead optimization projects on an ad-hoc basis, with priorities to be defined by the Regional Finance Business Partner Cocoa / Bean Sourcing.
- Proven work experience (at least 5 years) in internal controls, audits, or similar roles. Experience in a blue-chip manufacturing multinational environment will be an advantage.
- Experience in writing internal policies and procedures and process evaluation and documentation.
- Strong analytical skills. Detail-oriented and able to work and interpret figures and other financial information.
- Strong leadership ability in managing cross-functional teams across all sites in Indonesia.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Bahasa.
- Change management experience to embed finance best practices within the organization.
- Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Functional knowledge of SAP.
- Willingness to travel (25%), domestic and regional travel in APAC.
- Experience in cocoa and/or chocolate industries preferred.
