When you Join Team Caterpillar as a Product Design Engineer, you will start with technical contribution to Caterpillar Indonesia Batam factory followed by working with Global Teams, suppliers and other functional groups in the value chain to ensure goals are achieved. You will create and maintain an organizational climate / culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement / commitment and a sense of urgency towards business success. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology.
As the Product Design Engineer, you will be:
Resolve engineering related factory issues or deviations, gather technical information to provide Interim Corrective Action/Permanent Corrective Action in a timely manner. Also responsible to maintain and track engineering issues closure.
Engagement on NPI (New Product Introduction) or NSI (New Source Introduction) build providing technical support to set up the process until all the build issues are addressed. Also accountable to manage the execution of necessary reworks driven from design issues
Continuous & Effective collaboration with Global design teams, suppliers, team members, and other business units.
Initiate design ideas to improve product performance, reduce cost or improve Manufacturability
Provide on-site support for CPDD (Concurrent Product and Process Development) at Batam facility to ensuring Engineering changes implemented into factory/planning effectivity
Provide technical support to Batam factory teams
The successful candidate must bring:
Fluent in English and effective communicator, in written and oral form.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical /Manufacturing/Production/Electrical Engineering.
Having a minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing facilities/ industries/Field support
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing (GD&T).
Top candidates will also bring:
Having experience or knowledge in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), defect free or Built in Quality (BIQ), end of line testing, and CPI or PPRD (Pre-Production Reliability Development)
ERP System understanding is added advantage.
Lean and 6 Sigma knowledge, certifications will be added to the advantage.

You will work in office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.
Domestic relocation is available for this position.
