School Overview: The school offers an Australian standard education as well as the IB Diploma and AIS Graduation Certificate in Jakarta and Bali. With over 500 students, their two well-resourced campuses offer Preschool to Year 12 classes with specialist support for students with learning difficulties, limited English language proficiency or physical disabilities. Based on the Australian Curriculum and best teaching practise,the academic programme is designed to form a solid foundation from which young people may reach their potential and enter the world as confident and compassionate global citizens. Campus Overview: The Jakarta school moved to a brand new purpose-built campus in 2021,with students attending from Early Years to Y12. The school offers a stimulating Australian curriculum and is also authorised to teach the IB Diploma Programme to Year 11 and 12. Students at this campus are encouraged to maximise their potential,explore possibilities and take responsibility for their learning. Each student's development is guided by experienced staff working closely in partnership with the student's parents. Counsellors, subject and homeroom teachers provide support and encouragement in the process of working through personal interests, making course selections and career choices.
Requirements:
The Deputy Principal is appointed to assist with managing the day to day operations of the School and then takes on both general (shared responsibilities) and specific (sole responsibilities) so that the Principal can be fully supported.
The Deputy Principal reports directly to the Principal.
General Shared responsibilities
- Assist with the management of the day to day operations of the School in accordance with school policy;
- Teach a small teaching load;
- Demonstrate exemplary teaching and learning performance;
- Promote effective communication and open dialogue between teachers, parents and students and demonstrate a strong commitment to personal leadership growth;
- Provide high-level educational leadership in the school community;
- In cooperation with the Principal, provide high-level programme management;
- In cooperation with the Principal, build and maintain effective teams and develop cooperative working relationships that promote excellence in teaching and learning within the school;
- In cooperation with the Principal, initiate, plan and manage significant change in response to new educational directions, and manage the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum policy and programmes;
- Demonstrate a high level of ability to articulate educational issues and perspectives in communication with colleagues and the community.
- Assist with Staff Performance Management according to school policy
The DHOS, Secondary will;
- Have responsibility for the teaching & learning programmes;
- Oversee the IBDP Coordinator and his/her functions;
- Oversee school policies; including the quality of teaching, the quality of learning and all aspects of student assessment and reporting;
- Oversee the operations of the Secondary School;
- Take on the responsibilities of the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator; chair and initiate whole school Curriculum meetings;
- Actively engage in the support of positive student behaviour. Working towards anemotionally healthy school by acknowledging the schools' commitment to restorative practices and student wellbeing. Always working in consultation with the Wellbeing Co-ordinator and Counselor.
- the management of staff timetables, duty rosters, cover allocations and absences;
- Take a leading role in the implementation of the Campus Improvement Plan, including the campus Professional Development Program and accountability processes;
- In collaboration with the Principal adopt significant aspects of campus management, including the establishment and maintenance of proper, effective and efficient student records, such as student data to do with attendance, subject selection, assessment outcomes, reports and special needs documentation;
- Collaborate with Primary leadership so that there is quality communication between the primary and secondary schools;
- Maintain an events calendar for the year ahead Provide careers information for students and maintain links with various universities.
