Communicate the organization's internal and external issues specifically with external stakeholders and manage comprehensive strategies to establish the public understanding of company's nature, especially its operation, obstacles and mutual opportunities to ensure the achievement of company's objectives and produce shareholders and stakeholders' highest value.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to: * Manage and monitor the company's external communications activities including media and non-media relations activities that take place according to company's goals & objectives.
- Manage and monitor plans & strategy for external outreach programs (such as, NGOs, Academics, Mining Industry, Associations, Business Partners), and other key stakeholders (Opinion Leaders, Local Communities, Financial Institutions) to enhance the awareness and mutual understanding of the external public so as to maintain a positive public perception.
- Maintain relationships with national and local printed, electronic and social media in Jakarta and Papua in creating productive working relationship with media and to ensure the public understanding of the company's accomplishments, operations, activities, issues and policies.
- Manage immediate response to media news reports in order to obtain positive public image.
- Manage philanthropy activities and programs to gain and enhance positive public image.
- Strategically plan for communication material production to support external communication purposes.
- Control department budget to ensure the achievement of departments objectives within approved budget according to company's policies.
- Manage team performance fairly and consistently in order to build effective and efficient corporate communication professional team.
- Direct and communicate company's safety and environmental policies and procedures in order to promote subordinates' awareness of safety and environmental issues.
- Maintain and build a good relationship with media and non-media stakeholders. The incumbent should possess good understanding of complexities of issues faced by the Company and be able to explain the complexity in an easily understood manner to external parties.
- Ability to provide accurate response in a timely manner to overrule misleading information and ability to communicate it. The incumbent should be knowledgeable and competent.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor (S1) in Social Science, International Relations or any related field with 10 - 12 years' experience in communications / public relations business in multi-national company or government relations. OR
- Master's degree (S2) in Business with 10 years of external affairs related experience.
- This position needs to master the communication principles and practices, broad knowledge, and the ability to know and understand the complexity of the company's goal and objective.
