Key job responsibilities include:
- Responsible for preparation, analysis, interpretation and quantification of flavors and fragrances using GC - MS/FID.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of new flavors / fragrance ingredients & components within the market.
- Using GCMS to identify different substances in a test sample.
- Technical responsibility of operation and reporting of the Gas Chromatograph/MS instrument
- Calibration of test equipment and perform or organise routine performance check/maintenance as required
- Assist in the development, validation, and implementation of new test methods in a timely manner and within resources available and as per business need.
- Maintain laboratory documentation related to analysis and training.
- Ability to communicate with other chemists, project managers, QA Officer, and other personnel.
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments according to manufacturer's specifications.
- To continuously undertake method development to help improve runtime and quality of analysis from the instrumentation.
- Having M.S./Ph.D. in Chemistry
- Experience of working within the flavors and fragrance industry - essential.
- Proven industry experience as a GCMS Analyst for a sufficient period of time - essential.
- Desirable to have experience using Mass Hunter software.
- Experience within leadership - desirable Chemistry or related science degree or equivalent.
- Excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritise work to specified deadlines.
- Good communicator; proficient in English and Bahasa.
